The exhibition held by Linkong Contemporary Art Museum this time takes "Linkong - Window to the World" as the theme and invites outstanding artists from Asia, Africa, Europe and America, gathering their brilliant works. The metal sculpture located in the center of the venue undulates like waves, connecting the diverse cultures of all continents in the world. The following three groups of metal sculptures are from David Han, a Chinese American artist, from the "Listen to the Voice of Metal Series".
David Han, a ChineseAmerican designer who has been deeply engaged in the field of computer industrial design in Silicon Valley for more than ten years, has a growth trajectory nourished by both Eastern and Western cultures. Growing up in a family atmosphere that integrates artistic creativity and engineering wisdom in China, he laid a solid foundation for painting at the Beijing Children's Palace. This early academic painting education undoubtedly laid a unique aesthetic background for his future creative path.
After immigrating to the United States, David Han not only deeply understands the essence of Eastern culture but also widely absorbs inspiration from Western culture. By chance, when he touched the welding gun, a tool full of power and possibilities, it was as if a new world's door suddenly opened, leading him into a completely different art field - metal art.
In this unknown metal world, David Han turns into a brave explorer. Starting from scratch, he uses his ingenious hands as a pen and cold metal as paper, outlining his vision in his heart stroke by stroke. Facing the huge challenge of pure handmade production, he has to master various tools. Every strike and every welding is an extreme test of patience and perseverance. Failures and setbacks follow him like a shadow, and physical pain is also inevitable due to frequent contact with heavy and sharp metal materials, but none of these have stopped his forward steps.
After countless days and nights of exploration and experimentation, David Han finally ushered inan important milestone in his artistic career in 2010 - the first metal art work completely designed and handmade by himself made a stunning appearance. At this moment, it not only marks his initial success in the field of metal art, but also is the highest praise for his perseverance and spirit of exploration. Since then, his works are like vivid elves, leaping into the world through his hands. At the same time, the "Listen to the Voice of Metal Series" echoes the theme of this exhibition, showing the unique charm of the collision and integration of Eastern and Western cultures to the world.
